I can see road tax disappearing for all vehicles and road charging being introduced
Wow that's a sweeping statement, electricity going up 10 times, is this just a number you plucked out of the air or is there a company thats indicated they are planning this>
You may have noticed a lot of plastic is now being recycled, less plastic needed. BMW i3 Electric Car 2012 Full Fat RR 4.4 TDV8 (now gone) 2006 VW Touareg 3.0 TDi V6 |

A taxi driver friend of mine bought one of these a few months ago to replace a diesel mercedes estate. So far he's very pleased with it, and although it was a high capital cost for him he loves the fact that he's not spending such a huge amount of his income at the petrol station. |

I talked to a chap Friday at a supercharger: he reckons he saved +20.000 in the least 4 years/100.000 miles on fuel alone, taking into account the cost of the electricity he paid.

Am I missing something with the EV tariffs or is it just EV applying a bit of man maths?

Very rough figures, but take into account BIK (if applicable), no road tax, very limited if not no service at all, etc. You can also add solar to your house or even better solar+energy storage, then the kWh is very very cheap. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l Current RANGE ROVER Vogue 4.4L SDV8 - 2013 - Indus Silver, on Almond. There is also the alternative to retro EV drivetrains to older cars, including classic LRs and Defenders. Unfortunately, L322s are not there yet, and I have been asking around for the last two years to most specialists.

Yes, I get all that, it’s the ‘cheap’ EV tariffs and talk of 1p a mile running costs I don’t understand. Charging your car at 7.5p is all well and good, but not if you need more than 4 hours and pay 40% more for all the other electricity you use. Payback on solar is starting to make more sense again, but I like the way my house looks….will be different when the cost of something aesthetically acceptable comes down. I’m sure I will go electric at some point for the family car, but right now nothing this side of a Taycan Sport Turismo 4S appeals and from what I’ve read, they aren’t without issues / too but a compromise. With the mad price rises in electric ( someone making some cash there) I'm struggling to justify the price gap between the current 4.4 and an EV.

Went out for drive in a friends new MG ZS yesterday. I was quite surprised how nice the interior was, and the level of toys etc. Also very comfie place to sit, I was impressed with it. |
