FBH Not working no faults IID tool

Good afternoon, 4.4SDV8 2015 VSE Yesterday 0 degrees the car took an age to warm up, so today i scanned it with the IId tool, i have no faults, start the car and no activity from the FBH , currently 2 deg C so should kick in under 6 if my disco is anything to go by.
On my D3 & D4 sdv6 using IID trool you could activate teh FBH in service / test section on IID tool , butr there is no listing on the RR?

Build sheet says

Suplimentary heating Fuel burning
Block heater Less

In the CCF file FBH down as being present, i changed the CCF to timed climate and this brought up the tab in the touch screen on the dash, activated manual heat and the system goes through the sequence but blows cold air, no FBH running, set a timed climate and it all goes through and blows cold air, with teh engine running the FBH does not kick in its stone cold after 5 minutes with only tepid waterr pipe temp from the engine, yesterday i left malham yorkshire and got to full engine temp after 7 miles as the roads were litterd with fallen trees debris and ice so i hardly got more than 1200 rpm, this cant be good for the motor and aint too cracky inside either, reminded me of a escort diesel van i had 25 years ago.. Laughing

Any ideas peeps, as im lost without being able to run it via IID plus no error messages all seems strange to me, my D3 would lock out on low fuel, but you could clear it using iid and prime the FBH , but i can not see it in any menues... advice welcomed.

My 2016 VSE is suffering the same issue (seems like we're not the only ones judging by recent threads), I'll be interested to see how you get on. Have you checked the fuses?

Yes it will... seems that there are not too many responses either so looking like a lack of interogation by gap iid tool as LR must have the ability to prime the pump etc via diagnostic control, which i suspect is the issue, as its likley flamed out at some time and the iid tool cant see the fault... all seems very strange.. SDV8 2015

I had the same issue when I bought my L405. The FBH would not start, neither on manual nor remote. The IID-Tool showed absolutely nothing.

But I had an iCarSoft LRII diag unit that could show me live values for telestart, fuel and coolant flow pumps, etc. It could also pull the code for a broken glow plug. It was the welding of the feeder wire that had broken. After re-welding it and clearing codes it worked again.

I'll go as far as to call the IID-Tool totally worthless regarding the L405.

Thanks for this, yes I agree te GAP tool seems very limited almost to a Ebay code reader standard as you say there is something not right , hence why the FBH wont run but nothing showing on the reader, The workshop next to mine has a decent diagnostic set up so i may borrow that and see if it picks anything up.
Speak soon
