Just so everyone is aware, you can send the dvla an email, and ask them to auction any previously unissued plates (which all these are).

I did it a few months ago, and got one put in the aucton the next month. Strangely , a plate very similar has been listed this month, but it wasn;t me. May well put a bid in!

Best place to start checking if a reg has been issued is here, as they seem to have records of cars that have long since gone to the scrapper in the sky :
