I know it's not listed for your engine but does LXU100050 look anything like it? |

That one appears to be threaded into the head. This one I think is just an interference fit. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Having copied and enlarged the spares pic you posted, when you look at the details, all obvious threaded parts are colour coded / detailed in the threaded area, whilst that pin is not. The engineer part of me thinks that you are correct and that this is an 'interference fit' pin.

This is definitely a solid pin as I’ve tried to extract it from the old cylinder heads.

I bought the silver steel to do the dowels last night but have been speaking to Automotive Comp in North Wales who are doing my valve clearances. They're going to make 2 dowels and fit them to the heads for me before I collect them |
