Part identification- EGR Cooler i believe

Can anyone tell me what this is?

I am trying to trace a leak of what looks like Power Steering fluid or ATF fluid. the underside of this rectangle gold colour object is very wet and dripping down onto the fan pulleys and below. Not a huge deluge but a consistant drip i would say.

Any ID welcome and also what could be causing the leak would be incredible.

Apologies

I think, forgive me because I have a v8 petrol, that it’s the EGR cooler.

Microcat identifies it as the EGR cooler, as Simon stated above.

If you Google the Land Rover part number WIA000040 you'll be able to find the equivalent BMW part number.

Gents, thats helpful, thanks.

SO trying to track down this leak what is it cooled with, the substance is like i can only describe as a thin oil like ATF/pWS fluid

If the EGR cooler isnt liquid cooled then i am barking up the wrong tree!

It’s definitely cooled with liquid. Maybe your transmission cooler is passing some transmission fluid into the cooling loop.

Ok so that kinda narrows it down a bit, i am losing coolant somewhere.

That doesnt sound good coolant in the transmission!

Are there any usual suspects fpr leaks around the cooler

So is it possible to do an EGR delete and bypass the cooler?

Cheaper than replacing the cooler i am guessing.
