Now keeping 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8 Project

Advert purchase 220704-807

£6500 Ono

2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Sad to be advertising this but realistically I’m not going to get to giving it the time it deserves due to other commitments. I parked it up in the winter with a mind that I’d get on to it, but it’s not happening!

This Range Rover has started smoking when cold started and continues to for several miles into the journey where it seems to clear. I’m not sure what is the cause, it goes well, runs smoothly on all 8 despite the issue, it has had turbos previously so unlikely to be these at fault. The yellow dpf full message has been on a couple of times whilst it’s being doing this but it cleared/regens itself by going on a longer journey so I think its probably burning some oil. So buy with it in mind that the engine likely needs some repair.

Lovely looking car, above average condition, Buckingham Blue with Parchment heated cooled leather. Removable towbar, deployable side steps etc. Everything works apart from the Bluetooth module is bypassed. Also only some of the heated windscreen elements work (as usual!)

Apart from the engine issue it’s a lovely car and I hope someone gets it back on track and enjoys it like I hoped to.

Photos available but I can’t seem to upload them on here.

Message me for photos / more info. Thanks

That`s what I thought, That's a well-looked-after car it wanted for nothing I`m sure it won't take much to fix it?

Has anybody done any diagnosis on the car since it started smoking? Is there any smoke at all under load when warmed up? What colour is the smoke when it’s cold/warming up? Have you had to top the oil up on it? 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Hi I run a small garage myself,

I am suspecting something valve stem seal related, as it’s when you first start up the smoke occurs. But I haven’t done anything to prove this and it would need some dismantling etc to prove it. Once the smoke subsides after a few miles it’s clear and it doesn’t smoke again.

Having said this, I have took it out of hibernation to advertise it and took it for a 20mile drive this evening having not used it since the winter (also to try and video the smoke for someone who PM’d me about it) and it didn’t smoke at all!

But it’s for sale as spares or repairs at this low price. And if it sells the new owner can decide the next move.
