Service required?

Yesterday the service message told me a service was required in 1850 miles. I had an interim engine oil and filter change yesterday by a local specialist. This morning the car is telling me it requires a service (with spanner symbol)? Any ideas what’s going on? Thanks

Sounds like they didn't reset the service warning properly...

Service resets can be a bit hit-&-miss, certainly wouldn't be 'alarm bells' level, if they can reset it for you, then it's 'just one of those things' IMO.
For example, some Mercs. have a right strop at 5th service, although the service reset is done correctly, they can report implausible 'over by' distances, hours or days after service - sometimes around 45k over....

Wouldn't be the first time our SRT has confirmed the reset has been done successfully, but hasn't actually reset it

The later cars we can check through the dash, earlier cars can't be though. We rely on the tool doing its job and the service message clearing when the car is restarted...

And the early DS/Evoque/D5 etc suffered from a software mismatch after a PCM update, meaning the service reminder couldn't be cleared at all initially (a software fix was introduced though)

Thanks for replies. I’ve just followed a YouTube video sequence to reset the message using both pedals. It seems to have worked as the message hasn’t returned. I’ll check it again later….
