retrofit dual view screen?

Just wondering if anyone knows whether it is possible to retrofit the dual view screen to a 2017 vogue? 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel

Possibly, but I really wouldn't bother.

Once you get past the Oooo isn't it clever demo - it's a waste of time IMHO.

My wife never uses it, she doesn't watch that much, usually reads (or sleeps) but if she does, she prefers her iPad and AirPods instead of a smaller screen at an awkward angle with the clunky RR headphones.

God forbid that she share the driving - but that's a whole different issue. However, I think I'd also prefer my iPad.

Yes it is possible, it just plugs in place of the single view screen but then you need to be able to edit the CCF to get it to work which (currently) isn't as easy with the '17 on models.
However, to get the full benefit you also need to add the IR transmitter module in the roof next to the mirror and cable it to the audio amplifier module.

I would agree with Alistair about its level of usefulness.

Hi Horseman, hope you don't mind me contacting you.

I have just bought a 2013 Vogue and would like to upgrade to dual screen display. At the moment the tv works great when stationary but as designed, as moves off it stops.

My eldest son has special needs and rather than him sitting in back watching the TV DVD from the headrest screens I would like to have him up front with me.

With my older model is it a change of screen or do I need to do the other things you mentioned "edit CCF" & "IR transmitter module".

I am in Stepps, Glasgow, would you know any places where we are that could do that?

Many thanks in advance.

Craig

My only experience with this was on my (previous) 2017 model with the new infotainment system and wide screen display, I've not done any work on earlier models. A quick search doesn't find any second-hand displays that are likely to fit or work and a new display will cost well into four figures.

In general terms, the display unit would need changed as the dual-view display hardware is different and the vehicle software configuration (CCF) needs editing so the hardware is recognised.
The IR transmitter is for headphones and is not essential as long as you don't mind listening to the audio for whatever is playing to the passenger display.

Hi, Horseman, thanks for reply.

I have been told about a cable adapter from 'Starlink' that I can fit at back of screen that allows the TV/DVD to be played when the car is driving. However not keen on that as known my luck the cops will pass me and TV will be on, 3 points.

I will just chauffeur my son about the place, him siting in back with head phones watching a movie or TV thinking he is lord Muck.

Ta again.
