PPI on an L322 purchase?

I couldn't decide which L322 subforum to post this in, so it's here.

Does anyone know of a garage or independent mechanic who would be able to inspect an L322 before I purchase?

I've spoken to the local specialist (in Norfolk) who I'll be using to maintain, but they only inspect cars at their workshop, which is a logistical pain.

I'm ideally looking for someone who can just give a condition report and corroborate any vendor claims. Ideally they would be able to travel to the vehicle, and inspect at the dealership.

I'm looking for cars in the South and East of England, and would obviously pay any travel costs.

I realise this might be a big ask, but I'd love to hear any recommendations.

Thanks in advance.

The only people I've ever used for inspections before are the AA. It's not cheap though.

If you're buying a car from a dealer you're within your rights to return it if it's not as described so you could buy it and have it inspected at your local place and then return it if anything massively untoward is found. Bit of a pain if they're a long way away though.

If you are unsure or not confident about checking it yourself then buy from a dealer and not a private sale and as David says you have consumer protection. Check the cars history on something like 'Carvertical' and check the MOT records with the DVLA to see what advisories it's had ( too many and it's not been cared for). There is no 'risk free' way of buying an old car but you can minimise the risk by doing the above. If you know which model you are after then there is a wealth of info on these forums of the common issues to look out for. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
