I've done some digging and whilst it would be possible to add an Adbue system, the problem is getting type certification which only manufacturers or large conversion outfits seem to be able to get. This is based on NASA levels of data and a testing procedure with equipment on the vehicle over a series or road conditions usually done at a testing ground. The results of which set a car's co2 etc figures - and it's EURO rating. Additionally TFL have to recognise and accept test methods and the type certification. TFL upgraded a load of their busses from Euro5 to Euro6 which cost a lot and of coarse they accepted their own programme. Private car as a one-off? It's just not practical sadly. If TFL was serious about reducing pollution they would make converting Euro4 & 5 cars feasible but they just want the money. . The really bizarre aspect of ULEZ is the fact that the most polluting vehicle I own, (which is also the noisiest and can see only 4mpg on a serious run), is permitted to enter without a charge! The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom |
