No, it's right at the top by the filler.

You can see Sam using it in his video. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

If sucking the oil with a pump, the drain pipe is next to the oil filler on the top of the engine.

If draining the oil, no you don't need to remove the radiator splash shield. The sump is clearly visible underneath the car and the aforementioned hose to unclip is on the offside of it. It needs both clips pushing in whilst given a little wiggle towards the offside of the car. Be prepared. All 9 litres will dump in c. 2 minutes.

I flatten the box the oil gets delivered in and put on the driveway as the "splash zone". 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Thank you. I see what you mean. The hose to which Sam connects the suction pump.
I thought there was another drain hose under the engine. Thanks for clarifying.

There is... the hose under the engine drains the sump when disconnected.

The 'pipe' on the top of the engine is for sucking. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Wonder why the new design instead of the traditional sump plug. Is this more efficient?

For that, I have no idea. I'm sure some will claim due to "cost" however, sump plugs are c.£1-2 and Ford did a pretty good job at re-designing and replacing the BMW things which didn't work on these cars, at presumably great expense, so, doubt it really is due to cost.

So, you have two options for an oil change. One requires a pump but is 0 mess. One can be messy but requires no pump. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Thanks Gary.
I managed to take the cabin filter off and put it back. That's my first time ever and quite pleased with myself.
Decided to remove the battery to charge but couldn't as ECU was in the way .
Will attempt air filter tomorrow.
I do feel more confident than this morning but the oil change will be the most difficult, I imagine.

Do the drivers side first, because that is always the dirtiest.
I did mine earlier this week.
Don’t completely remove the screws from the lid to reduce the risk of dropping any, leave them in a couple of threads.

Well done and thank you.
I will do the driver's side first. Fingers crossed it will go well and I don't break any plastics.
