Creaking seat base plastic panel - Outer drivers side

My L322 has just returned from my local independent having had two new oil cooler pipes, and an oil cooler.

Anyway, that all seems fine, but now the drivers seat is creaking and there appears to be some movement in the outer plastic seat base panel. It wasn't like that before. Seems whoever's been working on the car has been lazy, maybe sliding in and out and has loosened the panel.

Anyone else experienced this?

Is there a simple fix to correct and tighten up?

Hope so, as this creaking is going to drive me mad!!

Many thanks in advance

I’m interested to see the responses to this query.

I have a few creaks starting. Nothing too major or annoying, but over time they will worsen.
I resolved the seat belt buckle rubbing against the leather… but all other creaks seamed to be more involved. I have one under the seat but just can’t get the angle to both fix and see what I am doing. Working blind, I just couldn’t do it.

For that one, I’ve resigned myself to removing the seats… but that’s an another day job. Probably along with the centre armrest creak. Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

Is this the thing you suspect might be the culprit ?
(This is a passenger side one - the only side I have photos of)

On the inside you can see a number of plastic tabs and prongs with holes in them standing proud.
These are what fasten it to the seat. If enough of these get broken the thing starts to move around
and may be the source of a creak.
Difficult thing to fix too. Mine were in such a poor state that I had to buy new ones.

(PowerfulUk may have a Utube vid on how to get these off - it is a long time since I did mine and I do remember it being a bit of a fight) Rob

It may be quicker for me to do the grease thing first off before I get to the weight loss!!
I've just seen that my driver's side seat panel has been rubbed and scratched by the seat belt Big Cry Big Cry 2005 FFRR SC Java Black with Overfinch Exhaust (UK)
