Weird one - 4.2 supercharged and it keeps cranking before starting - left a good 10 seconds before I stopped it and then left it 5 seconds and it started first time both times on the second turn…

No I know these suffer from vsr and this is a sign of cold but it starts from cold fine this only happened when warm?

Right this seems to happen hot and cold now - first crank I’ve left up to 10 seconds but turn off 1st crank on round two it starts, I tied initially cranking for 1 second then off again and round two it started.

Check the faults in the vim and I have a comfort relay fault - any idea where that is? I have a full spare fuse box for the front so if it’s in the front I will swap that first. Current stable:

Try this, don't key all the way round to start position, jut put key to ignition on, leave for 10 seconds, then turn to start position, see if it starts immediately then...

Yes that starts after about 2 seconds then I did it 3 times then did it instantly again and it took ages what are you thinking? Current stable:

Fuel pump not priming the system adequately a possibility

Good luck, its happened to me a couple of occasions but fixed itself

I have ordered a crank sensor as that is linked to the relay fault that came out.

Also at 130k it wouldn’t hurt to change it.

Is there a Schroeder valve to test the pressure? I’m not getting a fault? Current stable:

My snapon reader reads the fuel rail pressure it seems… if I turn the ignition to POs2 after sitting for a bit it read 4kpa. If I turn it off and back to pos 2 it boosts it by around 50 each time, when it’s over 100 it seems to start… is it not priming enough or is ot a non return valve issue? If you get it over 100kpa and don’t start it the low slowly drops down Current stable:

Dan I had an issue with mine where it stopped and wouldn't restart and it was the pressure sensor on the fuel rail which was cheap as chips but only found out after re-placing the fuel pump in the tank might be worth changing the sensor

Is that the small one with a vacuum line and a plug attached? Current stable:

Not sure Dan as it stopped outside the local garage I use for all our cars and just told them to fix it
