HDC just keeps the car within a certain speed and stops it running away. It can brake each wheel individually so it good when off roading on a steep slippy decent, as it will keep the car slow and straight. You holding the brake a bit will brake all 4 wheels, which may make it slide or slip sideways…. It’s pretty impressive. On the later cars you can change the set speed a bit, but not on the early cars I don’t think.

It will work on the flat too… but may only come on once as the car won’t run away as much without the slope…

Hey!

So its been a pain to be honest (although had a few days away from it)

Pressure bled a hundred times and wernt getting loads of fluid out, but some..
I was at a point of pedal travelled half way to the floor then the brakes would work (felt just like fronts).. Kinda felt like the servo pushrod needed to be longer?

Drove around the block with DSP on and could feel a real lumpy ABS kicking in slowing the car down.. Parked up and tried eezi bleeding and manual bleeding.. Getting a nice stream of fluid from fronts.. Just a dribble from rears.

Purchased a Foxwell NT630 Plus which i was told done IID Bleed.. But doesnt seem to.

Traced it back to the 2 pipes "Infeed" side of the ABS module (has 2 feeds that come direct from the Master Cylinder.. 1 feeds the front brakes and 1 feeds the rears)..
Master cylinder has 2 feeds to ABS module 1 front, 1 rear.. then 4 out, 1 to each wheel. i have a good feed to the front in side and good pressure to the front calipers..... i have nothing to the rear in side and nothing to rear cylinders.

Its 2 straight pipes from the Master cylinder so im kinda thinking the cylinder maybe u/s?
Ive ordered a vacuum bleeder too.. While waiting for that to be delivered ive ordered another master cylinder/servo £40 just in case..

Plan is tonight:-

1) Change the 4 bleed nipples in the calipers. Just because..
2) Bleed the 2nd hand Master Cylinder as much as i can on the bench
3) Fit the servo and master cylinder and see what fluid i can get out the 2 "infeeds" to the ABS Block..
4) Run around the block in DSP then 2 person bleed (maybe try the vacuum bleeder?)

Hopefully drive off into the sunset happy!! Accept, some days your the pigeon, some days your the statue!

For anyone following or interested...

Got home last night and changed the 4 bleed nipples.
Swapped the Servo and Master Cylinder over for another 2nd hand £40 one..
Bled it off as best i could whilst all disconnected.

Connected the brake pipes to the master cylinder and bled both pipes at the "in" side of the ABS module..
(Before i only got dribbles from the rear pipe and fountains from the front.). This time i got fountains from both!

2 person bled and got loads of fluid from all nipples..
Drove it around the block with an 80% effective peddle and HDC on.. it kicked in a several times, but felt like it was braking straight and square on all 4 brakes.

Stopped and re-bled

Pedal feels good.
Had to leave it, but when home tonight ill tidy op all the pipes and underneath covers etc and take it for a proper test drive.

Lessons learnt?
1) buy the correct bleed nipples first time, (there are 3 sizes)
2) You can get away without the £100 Foxwell NT630 Plus that seller says works on 2004 TD6 ABS bleed (but doesnt have that option)
3) Didnt need the vacuum bleeder
4) "Maybe was an air lock in 2nd hand master cylinder"... "Maybe was a faulty 2nd hand master cylinder"???
