Fixed Panoramic Roof

I never open my panoramic roof so I am tempted to spec the new one (if it ever comes) with a fixed panoramic roof so the view is not interrupted by the central bar.

How do you think this will affect desirability when it comes to resale?

Let’s have a poll for what you would spec (ignoring resale)

For me, I would definitely NOT go fixed.

I know it's only an occasional use feature, but if you're in a slow moving situation it's a nice thing to have. We were in Madrid a few weeks ago in slow moving traffic, it was about 23 degrees outside and it was lovely to feel the sun pouring through when opened.

The bar is a minor issue - Aside from resale, I'd just like to have the "roof open" option.

I always spec my cars with it, I like to leave it up to let dog smells out and fresh air in when parked up in the summer Very Happy MY23 PHEV HSE

I occasionally open mine. On a fresh crisp morning it's sometimes nice to have the feeling of fresh air without the draft caused by having the windows down. Kev

5.0 I would definitely spec the opening roof.

Two reasons - the opening roof has always been the ‘top spec’ and I know plenty of people who will only buy a car with an opening roof but am yet to meet the person who will only buy one with a fixed roof.

I know you said to ignore resale so of course do choose whatever you prefer!

Freddy, it would be any easy choice if my chosen trim level did not have the opening roof as standard (I wouldn't spec it). But, given that I have ordered an AB it seems wrong somehow to not have the sliding roof (as I have paid for it) even though I will never open it.

The poll (albeit a very small sample size) suggests almost as many people want it as don't. Therefore I am thinking I may as well just get what I want, or more to the point, what my rear passenger wants.

I love opening the roof, but I'm the only one in my family who thinks that. So as a result, I hardly ever use it. The bar across the middle doesn't make much difference to me, but I guess it may do to the rear passengers. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

I have spec'd the fixed roof as I never use the sunroof and it deletes the wide bar across the roof.

We ordered our Evoque with the fixed roof and we would regret not being able to open.

Having got it, it is a fabulous thing both night and day and no regrets at all.

And Charlotte's FL2 has opening pano and comparing the too is easy for us.

Sliding on L460 is pretty pointless IMO...the opening part feels smaller and doesn't actually open a great deal.

When I get loaners with fixed roofs I hate it. I actually find it incredibly claustrophobic - oddly, more claustrophobic than no sunroof at all! Shocked

I would never buy a car with a fixed glass roof.
