A friend of mine had the same issue. He gave me £60 to add his VIN to my IID tool then I bought a new fob from eBay for about £35, and transferred his folding key into the new fob. Total cost to him less than £100 and now he has the use of my IID tool when necessary.

I'm in a similar, one key position. I'm not immediately seeing how the iid shuffle above provides a second, additional, key, or am I missing something?

The IID is VIN locked for most advanced features. So, to program a key for a vehicle, that vehicle has to be added to the IID tool (or an IID Tool Pro used). Once added, the IID can program a new key to the vehicle. Key quality varies a lot - it's a bit hit and miss if any old key from ebay will work. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate <gone>2009 FF Vogue TDV8 Buckingham Blue</gone> <gone>2015 BMW 520D SE (not my favourite car)</gone> <gone>2009 D3 HSE Galway Green</gone> |

Given the BMW logo - I'd be inclined to think it was compatible rather than original. Likely the same key though. |

Hi Dave Sorry, my pesky job gets in the way sometimes…. If you look on eBay there’s one for £31.95 with the following description ‘ 5 Button Car Remote Key Fob 433Mhz For Land Rover Discovery 4 Range Rover Sport’ I think that’s the one I bought previously but I can’t be positive. Once you have a key if you message me we can sort something out (obviously I won’t want anything other than the cost to add a licence to my IID tool). I can’t confirm 100% it will work as there seem to be some cases where a key can’t be added but it’s worth a try. My friends car is also a 2011 4.4 so I don’t see why it won’t work Edit - I’ve checked my ebay history The seller was Greatwill2019 He also sells them for £31.95 (This is no guarantee that it will work 100%, just that the fob I bought was able to be paired). 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family 😀 2009 3.6 V8 (MY2010) - my first ever diesel! - now also gone 2004 4.4 V8 Petrol Vogue - now gone |
