Centre console trim refresh - part nos?

The two bits of silvery/grey trim on my centre console have peeled and chipped. It’s not the end of the world but it doesn’t look great.

Do any of you knowledgeable chaps know (a) where I can source replacements and/or what the part numbers are, and (b) how on earth I replace them? There don’t appear to be any obvious lever points, and the front one looks like it has a couple of switches on it that might need to come off first.

TIA

Have look through the Forum, as there are posts about the correct silver paint to use etc.
The selector decal is available seperately (I think powerful.uk or ebay). Wink

I do not have any info as to the paint, but the below link is a good guide to removing the sections of the centre console. Guide include photos and shows tools to use.

I think the paint is "Foundry grey"

There is a good video for removing the cubby lid to remove the rear console cover on Powerfuluk.com

Mine are the same and am considering wrapping them in Piano black to match the rest of my interior trim.

Amazing depth of knowledge here guys!

My only question now is this: the paints4.com paint is said to be for pre 06 cars. Mine is an 06 plate, even though the interior looks the same as that of the poster who discovered the foundry grey paint match.

So any advance on foundry grey as the correct colour to match my trim? Or should I assume that as mine is bubbling and chipped it is probably foundry grey? Range Rover 4.2 SC

Definitely go down the painting route…

The front piece of trim is part number FJV000265LYU And inc VAT retails at £569!

The rear is part number FJV000090LYU and retails at just under £75.

Another option could be to source used parts from ebay etc, paint / wrap the parts at your leisure then exchange the bits when you have time. I have seen these parts for sale now and then at reasonable prices. Just a thought.

All done.

The front piece came out easily once the cup holder behind it (which also got a respray) was out. I was able to get the front piece out without removing the gear shifter: release the clips holding the front piece, then release the clips holding the gaiter, then unclip the four connectors underneath (doing a bit of neck twisting and using a torch), put the car in drive, ease the front piece over the gear shifter.

The rear piece is a right PITA to get off. Powefuluk’s video was very useful - a penknife was ideal for pushing in the retaining clips on the bushes. Putting it back together was even harder as the long bolt simply won’t thread into the second bush. I ended up cutting off the two limbs of the bush that have the clips, then sort of forcing the whole thing together.

All that said it looks excellent now, and we’ll worth £25 on a tin of paint.

Thanks all! Range Rover 4.2 SC
