I've been going over my Vogue today and started looking at the fog lights because I was getting a "Check Fog Light" warning on the dash. Sadly one connector has been busted and glued badly back together (glue had let go, hence the dash warning), but the fog lights themselves are badly corroded internally so 95% of the silvering has come off. Prices for replacements seem to be nearly £200 a pair
Are there any alternatives ? I have found Range Rover Sport aftermarket ones at about £80 a pair, and the mounting points seem to be the same to fit the bumper - but they take H11 bulbs. Will fitting these trigger a fault/warning as the originals are H7's I think (I have to repair the wiring to one fog anyway, so could splice in the correct connectors).

Yes the foglights are the same as the Sport as in fact are the foglights fitted into the Discovery 3.
Bulb wattage will not cause any problems.
I seem to remember seeing some aftermarket led foglights that will fit for about £40 for the pair but unfortunately I can't find them at the moment.

Ask Stan when you pick the wiper up, he found some very cheap LED ones that fitted great... Pete

Thanks, I'm seeing Stan shortly so I'll ask him. In the meantime I've ordered some of the H11 type aftermarket ones I mentioned above, and some H11 connectors to splice into the loom.

I did manage to strip the old ones down, but they need re chroming, which is an arm and a leg in itself I toyed with the idea of relining them using aluminium foil, but thought better of it !

I have a 55 plate 4.2 supercharged - will the RRS/disco fog lights also fit? There seem to be a few unique…quirks to the SC. Have bought parts that say will fit then don’t - could be sellers just lying though!

Unfortunately it would depend on the exact date your vehicle was manufactured. The fog lights run from 2002 to 2005 and then 2005 to 2009. You are in between.
If you were to take out one of your lights and post a picture it should be possible to identify which one you need.
You need to show the fixing points to identify.

Thanks for the reply - registration is 1st sept 2005 - will check the vin later. I don’t have terrain response. Seems to be very hard finding parts listed for my model as you say, it’s in the middle of the swap!

If the fog lamps are original they should each have a part number printed on them.

Have you considered adapting them to become daylight running lights ?
I have seen them on cars on the road and they look well, but sorry can’t find a link to any at the moment.
I think I would adapt mine if they ever needed replacing because the fairy lights on my 2011 are pretty useless.
