405 Purchase

Looking to buy an Autobiography 4.4 2013 4 seater. Black on black. Currently at a dealership and looks unused but has a little over 60k miles on the clock. Going through the options I think it has everything with the possible exception of self parking.

I have had a L322 Vogue and a L322 sport both tdv8 3.6. Is there anything I should be looking at with a keen eye with regards to my intended purchase.

Going back tomorrow to look again and test drive, looks an incredible beast.

All joking aside, check for the front end suspension knocking, front shockers not working? Drive over a speed hump and see if the front end bounces (like an old American car!) as the front shockers have two chambers of oil and they leak internally, mix the oils which render them useless...

Oil coolers leak down the bell housings...

Thanks for the prompt replies. Do the front suspension issues relate to the 4 seaters or all 405’s

It's safe to say the suspension is the same on both 4 and 5 seaters, so the same checks would apply.

I looked at a 4 seater too, but then thought the flexibility of the 5 seater was more important to me.

Check if it's had its tc oil and calibration done as part of the 60k service

If I buy I think I will get it changed regardless as it sounds like it’s an issue waiting to happen.
