Which Roof Box & Rails to buy for an L322?

So, it looks like we're off to Italy next at some point in May, this time we're taking the Pooches and travelling in the L322.

The dogs need all the internal rear space (after rear seats removed), so we need a roof box and rails for luggage and dog treats.

I'm really struggling to find out which is the best box and rails to buy, it seems to be a bit of a minefield!

I see on the roof of my L322 that there are some sort of covered inserts, are these what I need to fix the rails in too? - Do the rails just clip in?

I've looked at Halfords and its suggesting a number of compatible roof boxes based on my registration number, but no rails. It just says, "rails must already be fitted" this is to enable Halfords £20 fitting of the box.

These are the two boxes being suggested, based on my reg number. The first is larger, so probably preferable:

The question is, which rails do I need and are they easy enough for a complete idiot to fit?

Where are you in the South East? I have a set of Yakima whispbars and a Feu Vert (French) top box I was going to advertise. I used them for one trip when moving back from France to UK John

We have just had a very similar scenario to you. The dogs rule our lives and take up all the room in the car. A trip to the Lake District meant we were going to need more space.
I ended up with a pair of Thule aero bars and borrowed a roof box from a friend. As for the bars, I can highly recommend them. Almost whisper quiet when the sunroof is shut, a tad noisy if you open the sunroof. Really easy to fit, no need to drill anything and easy enough to store away when not needed.
Check out Thules website. When mine came through they came with the exact measurements for where to place the bars specifically for the L322.

I'm guessing that's a joke?

I'm more concerned that they may be French and just plain awkward Laughing Laughing
