United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 V8 Baltic Blue
Restricted performance

Morning all

I have a 2012 RR Westminster 4.4V8, in the last week it’s been in the shop for new power steering pipes, brake pads, anti roll bars and bushes and exhaust sensors. We got it back last Saturday when it decided there was a problem with the suspension, back in the shop…can’t find anything wrong so all sensors recalibrated and we’re good to go. Driving it yesterday (50mph tops) we now have a restricted performance warning so limited to the 3,000rpm. Lots of googling later I’m not sure I’m any the wiser on the most common causes for this issue? No noticeable noises/shudders, no engine warning lights, can’t see any noticeable leaks (parked on driveway no puddles underneath)

Any advice greatly received!

First check on these engines are the 4 rubber manifold inlet hoses. Should be clean and dry. If they have black soot on them they will be leaking.

Which garage are you using ? I’m close to Winchester so can recommend a decent place for you.

There doesn’t appear to be a link between the work you’ve had done & the problems you’re now having, apart from the exhaust sensors (why?).
So, as kevinp has said, check the four donut hoses. While you’re there, undo the MAP sensor (small torx screw on top of the plenum) see what the sensor looks like and also where the MAP sensor sits, that can also get clogged up.
If you were gunning the old girl up to 50mph and above 2700rpm the second turbo actuator could be gummed up & not allowing the second turbo to operate.
Just my thoughts, they may or may not help the situation.
Keep us informed, and by the way, Dr Rob makes a very very valid point! 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

I used to get restricted performance on start up or occasionally on a drive but the car drove like normal turned out a new battery fixed it as the old one was struggling, may be worth a check 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8
