Price Increase

Prices have been increased again...a base spec SE is now £99,375...just over 5% vs launch!

Does that mean orders placed at launch are honoured at the price at that time or do we get fleeced for more dosh for a non existant car?

It works out to 9.4% vs launch when you take account of Electronic Air Suspension with Dynamic Response Pro and Electronic Active Differential with Torque Vectoring by Braking which were standard at launch and are now cost options. But you should get spec and price quoted on Order Form.

Nope, any orders not slotted for 22MY will be repriced at the current 23MY pricing according to my retailer. I'm hoping to get mine built within 22MY.

My retailer told me yesterday that it used to be the case that the price was held, he said they have had notification that they can no longer hold prices across model years. As long as it’s the same model year that you ordered then the price will be held.

He also said finance was only held for 6 months

This is what I got told too. So those getting a LRFS quote at launch now find themselves with an invalid quotation. APR has shot up but so have residuals.

Yes you are correct about price increases

I have just re configured the one I have on order and it has come in at 5k more expensive. Also increasing monthly payment by £200.

I've a funny feeling the dealership with not honor the price at the time of order-

I'm going to drop them an email today to find out.

If the dealer intends to increase the price, they must give you written notice. So, personally, I would not ask them.

I’m almost certain that if you say you won’t pay it, the dealer will sell the same slot the same day!

I’m still struggling with the new now old price…. Putting it up by 5% isn’t helping.

I guess JLR think they can keep on kicking… SWMBO is out , , smart shirt on this morning & I was just about to phone the dealer….. hesitation rules ok ! Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

Well I decided not to email my dealer..

However he has emailed me this afternoon.

His words are: those customers vehicles that are showing in the holding pool, the prices have increased.

in the offer details on the order form (front page bottom left) states that dealers are unable to prevent price rises from the manufacturer. I will need to send you a revised order form.

the above are his words.. so all in all if your in the holding pool you have to pay the increase or cancel. if your in a long holding pool, who is to say there won't be further increases.

I dont envy the dealerships having to call the customers to tell them.. 😒

I think they have pushed too far on price.. especialy when a lot of insurers wont insure cars over 100k

I just had direct line refuse to cover my SVR that is due, even though I already have insurance with them

And to complete that rather depressing thought if you elect to cancel your order when they seek to increase the price (maybe more than onCe if build if further delayed) and potentially the interest rate under a PCP do you get your £2k deposit back or is that retained by the dealer /JLR?

If I cancel I will just get them to put the deposit I placed against my SVR that is due to arrive at the end of the month

Once notified of increase, most Ts&Cs give you 14 days to accept. If you don’t, you should get your deposit back.

Remember, though, that it is the dealer who is charging you more. They may blame JLR (and be very quick to do so) but there is nothing to say that they must pass on any increase.

I personally didn’t pay a deposit but I’m almost certain the deposit cannot be retained if you cancel the order for any reason up until the specification is locked. Even after this, I think they’d have a hard job retaining it for such an in demand product providing you hadn’t made a less than desirable spec.
