What was the total cost and did you do the job yourself ?

If this is to me, no this was an indie doing it - just add up the relevant prices (i.e. not the tranny oils etc) and add 20%.

My first L322 problem ...

Hi all, I'm new to the community as I just bought a 2012 L322 TDV8 Vogue 6 months ago against all my friends advice, but I just love the car.
Anyway I noticed Acrid fumes one morning and a lack of coolant ... It appears I have the "damned" oil cooler leak.
It seems to be a winner in the TDV8 community.
The quote my LR dealer gave me is 1600Euros... ouch, with the oil cooler replacement and flushing of oil and coolant.
These are continental prices that aim at punishing whoever buys british ( Laughing Laughing )
anything else I should have done while they're at it (its 160000k) ?
anything else I should fear ? Big Cry "it needs some intelligence to undestand you may not have enough"

I'd get them to look at the auxiliary belt, tensioners and idlers and maybe water pump at that mileage ( Km's) which together with the oil cooler are the only really weak points on the engine. 'Fear' is when you own a TDV8 3.6 and an EGR valve fail will take out the turbo's or when you own an SDV6 and the crank snaps. There are no common catastrophic fail points on the TDV8 4.4 - you made a wise choice. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
