United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Bonatti Grey

Time for a small update I think on this one.

As the battery decided to give up as well as the alternator, I swapped the battery over from the super charged range on to this one as they are both the same. Chucked the dead battery in the back and didn't realise it had fallen over and then created this mess.

Found myself a genuine cover on ebay for £90 so bought that to replace the seat. Started to remove it all as you can see

And what should happen too turn up on ebay. A complete seat for £30 delivered so bought that instead so I'll prob sell this one on now

Well sadly it's time for the big blue v8 to be sold as I don't really have any reason too keep it now so I'll get it motd next month and then get it smartened up for sale. Been a flipping decent car that one has. Bit battered on the body work with scrapes and few dents but mechanical wise done me well for 30k miles with only an alternator and brake pipe that needed a tow truck

Evening all

Finally made some free time for myself and decided to start sorting the blue v8 out. Rear hand brake didn't even have any springs holding the shoes together. Found a good way too sort the common issue of the brake shields as well. Find yourself a hand brake fitting kit and the pin washers work wonders being placed on the rear of the shield. Done this and it appears too have rectified the handbrake issue

Also today managed too replace the air con tensioner as the old one had seized. Might be a bit pointless doing the air con tensioner at present given the weather but as its being sold off soon, I figured it's best its done.

And the big blue v8 has passed its mot. Handbrake requires slight adjustment but its all good other then that. Big relief for me as I need too sell up so time to do a for sale post.

I'm going too offer it up on here, Facebook and eBay so keep your eyes peeled.

Well that's the big blue v8 over and done with. Couldn't shift it as a whole car for £1500 so stripped it all down and broke it for spares. Had one guy who wanted the engine and box so took a bit of a loss but It's out of my way now as I said he could have the shell for free.

Still that car done me well n I'm happy I took the chance too buy it.

One is bad enough to maintain so having 2 must have been hard work!

At least you’ve got the SC you can play with instead!

Well this will make you laugh. Had an offer tonight of £2200 as I forgot too end it on ebay. If I didn't have the sc then I'd have regretted it instantly. Last 48 hours I've done this driving and it's just been amazing and comfortable and I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better driving experience bearing in mind some of this was done with a trailer on the back as long as you can ignore the fuel bill

Tbh I think the worst part of running 2 petrol range rovers was the insurance and tax but I guess that's living in East London. Insurance for a 4.4 v8, 4.2sc and the bike is just short of £3.5k a year. Bike on its own is £1200 with 10 years ncb. I think as long as your handy with the tools then these cars are pretty cheap to use.
