United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV6 Loire Blue

I spoke to mine on Tuesday and he’s none the wiser - just towing the LR company line, which is fair enough.

We are test driving the X5 PHEV tomorrow and if it’s any good, get one of those, its not a RR but it’s also £60k cheaper 😂 I used to love the BMW’s and I’ve had loads over the years, but got a bit put off with their “image” but nowadays every “premium” car maker has an “image”

We will see- keep the order in for the RR PHEV- but, this way at least the waiting won’t bother me so much and would get to try todays best PHEV 👍👍

Full man maths at work….

I phoned my dealer this week and my sales contact was very non committal which was a complete turn round compared to previous discussions. I was meant to be the second spec’s order placed for an AB and was hoping for an early car but unsure when it might arrive now.

They know that nothing is forthcoming and the delays are a lot longer than they first thought - they are not going to publicise that the jobs fecked - they have launched the car - had unprecedented demand and commitment from the public. Got a great
New product - loads of demand and can not supply because of external forces. What a nightmare for any business !!!

We are left in limbo, through no fault of LR to be fair….

It’s a bit 3rd hand, but I’ve been told that they are having issues with the electronics and not just because of the chip shortage.

It’s a braver man that me who buys a brand new JLR model, but I genuinely hope all is good when they come through! MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

VW are currently mailing customers advising that there will be significant further delays to their already delayed orders. Sighting continued impacts from the microchip shortage, covid and now the terrible events in the Ukraine where some of their components are sourced (wiring looms in particular).

Whilst bad news and it’s pee’d off a lot of customers their communication is at least transparent over what customers can extract from dealers.

I have only had my order in a month and don’t expect any further updates for some months. Fully expect I will take delivery of my RR at some point next year now. MY23 PHEV HSE

Spoke today with my Austrian LR dealer where I ordered my RR AB mid January this year. He told me that there are serious troubles with the V8 engineering, BMW, petrol, due to chip and other troubles. According to him diesel engines are supposed to get produced earlier therefor.
What ever, we have to wait.....f.....
Take care in these strange and difficult time....

Totally agree with you, 7 CDB. But, what if it turns out that LR is struggling a bit internally?

Not promising if it's technical issues that causing the delays. Reputation-wise better if they sort the issues out before public launch (given it doesn't take months & years...), and not like Porsche & other brands that have launched beta-test versions. AFAIK LR doesn't get wiring looms etc from Ukraine, but they're of course impacted by any chip shortages. However, if the delays are caused by chip shortages, what of the AB/First edition equipment could cause these issues? HUD, digital headlights, cabin air purification pro, or - just difficulties controlling the new equipment in Pivi pro? (The Pivi Pro should have been tested somewhat already in the other LR vehicles)
Still a First-world problem...

When I was discussing a D5 order last year the dealer was pretty open, if I added HUD, deployable towpack or chose a model with digital dash expect long delays. LR have now moved back to analogue dash for all but the HSE and metropolitan edition on the disco same with defenders people have been contacted to say their cars will come with analogue dash and given choice of take it or leave it.

Will be very interesting to see how LR have organised supply for the RR. MY23 PHEV HSE

It is interesting the Censored muddle they have got them selves in trying to meet the desires of a focus group based around 15 year old girls and twelve and a half year old boys.
I ordered an AB as I wanted the big V8 and thats the only option. I dont realy want HUD, digital dash, All the infotainment crap, exec rear seats, self opening and closing doors.
The saying if it aint broke it has not got enough features has never been truer. letters not necessarily in the right order

Yesterday it was five months since the launch event 26th of October 2021: https://youtu.be/otW-_IjwePc
Can't recall the waiting time was that long for the L405? Extraordinary times, for sure!

Spoke to my dealer today. All vehicles are being released as of 29th March. No longer holding back for demos first either. All vehicles built are being shipped as of March 30th.

Mine will be in by next week so all being well should have it for a trip to Paris on 6th April.

At the same time I’m now considering keeping my 992. The money it’s commanding is ridiculous and not going south any time soon.

FFRR as a daily, 992 for weekends and our little mini for tootling!
