LV Insurance - Any Thoughts ?

Daughter has just passed her test so am looking about for new insurance on SWMBO's car as existing insurer wanted an extra £400 for remaining 4 months Shocked

SWMBO takes delivery of her brand new Citroen C4 next week, so have been through all comparison sites and LV seem to be coming up as cheapest on most, and also significantly less than other insurers (like 30-40% less Shocked )

Any reason why I shouldn't go with LV?

I've been with LV on and off for a number of years and don't have any complaints, although I've never made a claim.

They won't insure my FFRR, but they currently cover our other cars (Qashqai and Mini convertible). Good foreign use (180 days) and reasonable excesses for windscreen cover. Pano roof is also covered under the windscreen part of the policy. 2017 SDV8 Autobiography

Superb

My Son brought a C class Merc last year for 25K and it lasted less than 1 month before he drove into the back of someone waiting to turn right. Write off as all air bags went off and it was matt grey.

Shall not bore you with the details but LVE paid him in full within 14 days of notification. Kept him up to date with engineers report etc.

No complaints whatsoever.

We now have most insurances through them simply based on that one event. Thumbs Up 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Well, doesn't look like it'll be LV after all Big Cry

SWMBO's car is delayed, it's currently in the factory car park in Spain but apparantly they can't shift it as there's a Spanish lorry drivers strike Rolling Eyes

So, thinking it'll be another few weeks, I updated the insurance quotes and LV's has increased by 50% and even the cheapest insurer now is £300 more than it was last week Shocked

How on earth can they justify it? Nothing whatsoever has changed so it can't possibly be a higher risk to insure than a week ago.

Money grabbing Censored ers.....

The best time to get quotes is around 21 days before the policy start date. Evidence has shown that after that the price creeps up each day.

Recently I received my renewal quote for my FF, near as dammit £500 Censored went on-line two days before I wanted cover to start and got a good policy with Admiral for £235. Everything is included apart from AA cover which I already have.
I have had a previous policy with LV, but never needed to make a claim.

Re: LV Insurance - Any Thoughts ?

Long story short- 3 cars with LV on their multi car policy. BMW 5 series, my original L322 3.6 TDV8 and a little used 1996 Mazda MX6 2.5 on limited milage. All well and good until Jan this year when I duly part exed my FFRR for an 3.0 L405 and rang them with the reg to swop it on my policy.

We won't insure it !! We don't insure vehicles like that any more. So I had to arrange get me home cover with a broker. Since removed all vehicles from them. 5 years, never a claim but they where happy to lose a customer ?
