So this is one of the issues I was aware of when I bought the car.

My air con is intermittent - it seems to seem to kick in after 5 or 10 mins of driving but on long journeys, the cabin temperature can be a bit unstable (driving to and from Scotland, there were times the cabin felt warm and with climate control, should be a constant temperature).

At first, the plan was to replace the AC compressor because of the known PRV issue however, now I'm not so sure.

During the winter, there were a few instances I noticed the inside of the car to be a bit cold vs the temperature I had set. The AC unit wouldn't have any bearing on heat supplied to the cabin?

Therefore, I am wondering whether first port of call should be the cabin temperature sensor. I have tried blowing an air duster to dislodge dust but seems to have made no impact. When I looked at the workshop manual, there isn't any Info on how to replace the sensor, other than how to take out the HVAC control unit.

Anyone got any photos / thoughts on my approach? Seeing as a new sensor is about £60, might seem sensible to try this than the larger job of replacing the A/C compressor.

Also, on cold start up, there's a load of squeaking coming from inside my dash which sounds like an old cassette - sounds like the vents opening up and needing a good oil. Any guides on how to do this (assume it's common)? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Ok so I de-assembled the HVAC unit and cleaned out the vent and fan. The fan didn't look especially dirty but, was covered in dust.
