Bit of a thread drift but agree on the issues with full EV on large vehicles. I looked at a Cross Turismo but for what I need couldn't live with the range restrictions so a combo of range and recharge availability just made it too impractical.

IMHO it will be about 12 months before we start to see mid/full size EV SUV's with a decent range. (New Macan, new XC90 etc)

I didn't want to wait for "indefinite lead times" on the RR stuff and found Volvo had 4-8 week availability on XC60/XC90 PHEV's so have an XC60 turning up in a couple of weeks. Have taken it on their subscription service with a 3 month termination so when the full EV market becomes better or supply loosens up on RR PHEV's I can place an order and hand it back.

As a crazy alternative (space wise) I also am tempted by an ID.Buzz Laughing

Cheers,

I think if I could afford it, I would go 812 as a the last ever Ferrari V12 👍

I’ve just got a low mileage Ducati V4 Speciale to put in the house to look at for my fix 😂😂

Thanks for your thoughts 7 CDB.

If I did buy one then the cost will be spread out over a PCP, I couldn't stomach all that money going out in one go. I think the residual will also be quite strong, so shouldn't cost too much on a monthly basis. Will give it some thought.

The 812 Superfast is a fantastic car, but I just found this 296 very pretty - Something more to look at and admire rather than drive, a bit like your Ducati. I'd love to have something physically in the house but there's no way my wife would allow it!

Yes, I also considered a Taycan. I had one for a couple of days whilst my 911 was being serviced and liked it a lot, but it's those longer trips which whilst infrequent, we'd just not be able to do without considerable planning, if at all.

Given the fully electric FFRR is being launched in 2023, I wonder what the range will be? Are we thinking game changer or similar to what's already available (250ish miles)? 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

I think the full electric RR is hopefully going to be a game changer - if they can get 400+ miles to a full charge, people will be falling over themselves to empty their pockets 👍😂

I think that's great 7 CDB Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Your wife is obviously easier going than mine.

There's a house down the road from me and he's got a Harley on his first floor landing with a glass window in front, so you can see it from the road as you walk past - Not sure how he got it up there.

The dream for me would be an indoor pool with a car on a revolving platform at one end, but my wife say's it's tacky!

Plus I don't have the necessary funds for all that........ Maybe one day if I get her life insurance Very Happy Very Happy

😂😂😂😂 she’s kinda given up on me now, I’m the big 50 tomorrow (off up to Edinburgh for a nice weekend) and started off my 50th year in the Maldives for Christmas and New year, booked for Glasto and have all sorts of daft plans - as after a big health scare 3 years ago, and not even knowing if I would see my boy grow up at one stage 😱😱 I am now only working 4 days a week and I’m taking full advantage of the here and now 👍👍

You really do only live once (plus I can’t really afford to live too long) 😂

Dealers demo cars in showrooms next week. First deliveries the following week.

I’ll be out of the country but when I return the following week mine will be ready to collect. Can not wait.

👍👍 Great stuff - can you let me know how managed your car so quick?

It was a dealer spec car, thankfully in the exact specification I wanted, with the slight exception I’d have skipped the deployable sidesteps.

As soon as I have it I’m going to put down a deposit on a new hybrid. The idea being that in the 18 months I’ll be waiting this one shouldn’t depreciate too heavily. They’ll be as rare as hens teeth for some time to come I think.

I still can’t figure this out-

Cars are not even on the road yet, no journalists have got hold of them and some lucky people are a week or so from delivery

Best of luck with it mate and enjoy in good health 👍

Can’t wait for the pics

The issue is they want the press reviewing First Edition derivatives and they currently cannot build these!
