Ulez extension

So he has gone and done it, that prik khan says he is going to include all of London in the ulez.

Only those rich enough to afford a new car will escape the old car car tax......when it comes in where selling up and moving.

This is the tw*t who swans around London in a Range Rover, paid for by the public, and the Censored is also famous for accepting freebies, by the bucket load. £17.000 worth in a short space of time.
Yet again, the poorest of society will be hit the hardest whilst his rich friends laugh.

I received the letter from Borris a few months back when they expanded the ULEZ to cover everthing inside the A405/A205 saying my 2015 Range Rover does not conform to the ULEZ zone so i would have to pay if i wanted to pollute the air he breathes but he did not worry when they sold the non conforming London Buses to private Bus companys where i live .

I can’t believe he got in last time. When are Londoners going to wake up and realise we are paying for his constant inability to balance the books.

The thing is once it’s in place there’s no going back whichever party the next incumbent comes from Big Cry

As said, the people it hits the worst are the very people Socialist Mayors are supposed to protect, the least we’ll off.

He is totally incompetent Censored

We're actively looking to move the only thing keeping us here and here is on the very edge I'm just a couple of miles inside the m25 and a London Borough....is my elderly mother inlaw bless her 91 and still lives in here own home once she is no longer with us there is nothing to keep us here. My children will never be able to buy a property and with Censored like him about how will the working men and women ever manage.

The thing is…..
Air quality in London is criminally poor and this is not a revenue raising scam.
As someone who has to pay the ULEZ I support tougher controls on emissions but would want to see a more sophisticated charging system rather than a flat daily charge. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Whilst the air quality in London is dire, one can’t help but think that the car/van owner is once again being hammered by Mr Kahn’s inability to run London’s finances in a competent manner.

For example: our youngest is an electrician, last week he was working in Central London. He has a small fuel efficient van that isn’t ULEZ compliant. His daily charges are £12.50 ulez, £15.00 congestion charge and £60.00 for 8 hours parking.
Too many tools to be taken on the train and they can’t be left on site.

£87.50 a day or £437.50 per week. So before a wire is cut the customer is already into huge costs.

Someone’s making a pretty penny and it’s not the Sparks Censored

The mayor is being deliberately starved of gov funding for purely political reasons as the gov hates the fact that the capital is run by a labour mayor and not one of their own. If there is mismanagement of funds on a scale large enough to make the ULEZ unnecessary I’d like to see the evidence. Also the demands for the air to be cleaner come from the government themselves and is not a lefty green pet project of the mayor. My only criticism is that given the double hit of covid and hike in car prices ( and gas) the system should have been either delayed or the charging rate phased in over a few years to give the poorest more time to move to compliance. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I agree there is an air quality issue, so why not just an outright ban on non-compliant vehicles?

The Mayor can't keep saying it's a health issue and then "allow" people who can afford it to pay to pollute. Unless, of course, it is actually about revenue raising Whistle 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

I think some city's are considering a ban by not having a charging system and just having a fine like they do
for parking and speeding. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I suspect he will be in for the next term sadly but since he's been in everything has gone up. We all knew he's long term plan was to make any road inside the m25 a ulez zone. Not sure how he's going too do that with places like Purfleet, Watford etc but it's always been about money for him. Hes even spoke about a greater London charge of £3.50 a day just to drive anywhere. I'm having too look for a new place too live as that will simply out price me going too work each day. A lot of my colleagues in the emergency services are broken as they now realise that all their diesel cars are not fit for the job so now have too get into more debt because their 2012 golf won't be allowed to the outer stations like Deptford, Bromley, Romford, Enfield etc

I doubt very much a different mayor would make london cheaper to live in and have cleaner air unless they stood on a pro-pollution mandate. Everything has gone up in price outside london as well so SK must have extensive powers beyond the M25..... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

We are inside the M25 but luckily we managed to keep the borough independent rather than joining London. Think that means the Ulez at least wont extend to where we live. My 4.2SC is still Ulez, but E38 BMW and old Volvo aren’t…

Can’t wait for that incompetent Khan to be booted out!

Don’t think it is wise to start a debate on that here
