L322 and Adaptive Dynamics Query

So… wondering if you have an L322 with Adaptive Dynamics, is there body roll at normal speeds when cornering?

I might have an iffy memory with mine…. Thought it was comfy, but had body roll. I put more air in the tyres, maybe 1 or 2 over the book pressure, and ride firmed up and a bit harsher… then put pressures back, still firm… then failed MOT with rear shocker leaking…. Replaced 2 rear shockers… ride still firm, no roll on corners at normal speeds.

Then had Adaptive Dynamics Fault due to wiring breaking to front shocker, suspension was rock solid. Think that’s what it does with a fault condition. Fixed that, and it’s back to being what I’d call firm, with no body roll…. But not rock solid.

Does yours roll much on corners, with CVD? Or is mine working correctly?

I'm interested to hear what others say here, as my 2012 has Adaptive Dynamics, but I've yet to see/feel anything really noticable in terms of difference between this 4.4 and my previous 3.6, which obviously didn't have AD.

Do I get body roll - Yes!

Is it excessive? No!

Do I drive like a grandpa?...... errrrr Whistle The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

For the size, weight and COG of the car I'd say mine has very much less body roll than expected so the AD is doing it's job. Any failure of the system and the shocks go to their hardest setting so it shouldn't roll more unless the shock absorbers are very worn and ineffective when the valving is closed. As for ride quality what tyres and wheel size do you have? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

@JMC I ran a 3.6 and 4.4 at the same time for about 18 months and didn’t notice any real difference when swapping between the 2. Only real difference was that the 4.4 shockers were bloody expensive when I had to change them.

No real body roll with mine. Going quickish around roundabouts it stays pretty flat.
Definitely doesn't float over every imperfection in the road that I had been expecting.

Yup! I changed one of the struts on my 3.6 Vogue last year and the garage said to me that I was lucky it wasn't a 4.4...... Shocked The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

I'd rather be changing more expensive struts on the 4.4 than even more expensive turbo's on the 3.6...... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I had already paid for two new turbo's on the 3.6, so I'd rather not be paying for any more of anything thanks! Whistle Laughing The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

I’ve just got standard 20s on with Pirelli’s. They’ve been on a few years now, so were on when I thought it was more comfy.

Perhaps it’s working correctly now, but I remember it having more roll and being a bit more compliant that’s all.

Much less roll than my TD6. It’s quite sporty by comparison.

I don’t really trust a garage to comment to be fair….

Just changed my 7 yr old Pirelli's for new ones up front and the harshness of the ride is much reduced. Not sure if this is tyre aging or an updated design ( Both Verde). Toying with doing the same at the rear but they still have >5mm on them so not sure if a smoother ride is worth £400. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
