Repaint or leave?

Cleaned & prepared both callipers. All good, added decals & then applied a 2 pack lacquer.

That's when it all crazed Censored

The question is do I bite the bullet & strip them all back again or leave?.

This is one of those where only you will ever notice it. No one else will. But it will bug you every single time you catch a glimpse of it. If it was me, I’d take it back to the paint and redo the lacquer. I’m not an expert by any stretch, but I think it goes like that when there is too much moisture in the air so you might want to wait for a nice dry day to do them.

Hi what paint was it as a base layer ie enamel single pack.

This can happen for a number of reasons. Top suspects

Paint reaction- 2 pack clears will soften single pack base layers and wrinkle.
grease or silicone- panel wipe to make sure base layers is grease and silicone free. However its unusual for a whole job to be wrinkled usually its in a few spots where the offending substace was.
paint on too thick and not enough time between coats and final laquer.

I would leave a few days post clear then sand back the clear until the wrinkles are level trying not to get rid of all the clear and re clear coat, one very light dust of clear then two normal coats. paying attention to the data sheet ie for flash off times and recoating times. Dont be afraid to leave it a day between coats.

It may happen again but worth a shot.

Thanks for the replies guys.

FF Lance- I totally agree, It's already playing on my mind now.
Snowy 90 - I believe that the aerosol blue was the culprit. May Not lacquer then next time
alanm -3 - Should have used Hammerite in the first place Whistle

I think that I need to try & get them shot blasted & start again Big Cry

what can of blue was it?
might as well try rubbing back and reclear, nothing much to lose, leave the decals just flatten it where you can.
