Updated: Does a knackered BT module screw the whole system?

My BT module got wet (its a D4 upgrade one) and now the screen just has the LR logo and nothing else.

Codes said optic message missing, so I assume because the BT is broken, the rest wont work?

Am i right (for once Rolling with laughter )?

You can get a fibre optic joiner thing on eBay pretty cheap which allows you to do away with the Bluetooth module if you want to test the theory.

Could be anything pal , over complex system that LR insisted on using ,makes it unreliable and difficult to nigh impossible to diagnose , mine is doing much the same but nothing i tried with the optics made a difference, im ripping mine out and fitting android from scratch, i hope the loop works for you , by the way you can try looping it to test it , youtube ' range rover atereo fix , its easy to try and free

I have just been out and re fitted the BT module....nothing.

So I tried a homemade loop and everything came back on. Still the odd crackle and pop from the speakers, but nowhere near as bad as yesterday. In fact, a bit of fiddling with the loop tube I used and it was OK again.
When I moved the loop I made it crackled again, so I think that is because the light doesn't quite meet up 100% unless I hold it straight, which is no surprise as its an old fish tank pump tube with a slight curve.

So a proper loop might be OK. If not, I will be looking out for your thread on how to change the system!!

But i am hoping its all OK, as I have not had any issue at all with it until it got wet. (The BT module is toast though, it smells burnt. No biggie for me since I haven't ever taken a call on it anyway).

I probably will, but I want to make sure that there is no more cracking when I fit the new bypass loop, which should come tomorrow (Amazon deliveries in France are not reliable).

I suspect the amp got wet/damp as well, but is slowly drying out, hence the crackling)
