Very likely a driver issue and maybe not the best choice of tyres?

Supposedly on Michelin snow tyres. Driver going at it like a bull at a gate. Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)

I had a Mini 40 years ago that went up hills in the snow. I even rode a solo Norton Motorcycle in a blizzard to central Scotland in six inches of the stuff in 1970, so its a bit of a let down for Landrover that a modern car will not drive in snow!

full on driver over egging it incompetence there.

slow and steady will give the TC and TR to do their jobs, booting it and the car will just spin all its wheels and you will go nowhere.

Yes you are right. Studs in A/T tyres work well on ice.

Quite. When I had my DISCO 4 on winters, I never even got much wheel spin when I tried hard. Regularly used to drive through 2 feet of snow on top of ice and the traction control light would barely flicker.

How can we be sure that the tires are what the video says it is? And that the tires are not too old or have incorrect tire pressure. Maybe it's just an incorrect title to drive clicks. The video description says to sell the channel videos to make money.

I have Michelin X-Ice Snow winter tires on my L405 during this part of the year and they are great in the snow. I have driven over snowy mountain roads with the L405 on winter tires. They do not defy physics though, no tire or car does. L405 2016 - Supercharged V6 petrol 380hp

When I had my L322 I only had one opportunity on decent snow and with summer tyres even giving it major abuse it still drove off up hill no problem despite my best efforts to make it fail. I also had no issues when dragging a 7.5 tonne truck across a muddy field, again, only summer road tyres fitted. BMW i3 Electric Car

Hard to tell how much of that was frozen, but even so, I'd have expected it to make it if it was really fitted with winter tyres.

I live in a ski resort - a Range Rover can easily handle that sort of slope with soft snow.

I run with Conti Winters - I have 4 chains in the boot for emergencies and I've never had to use them.

People that live in warm countries (cough, England, cough and many places in the US) often talk about a car being good for snow and ignore the tires.

I'm from Scandinavia and there people change to winter tires each year and use mostly 2wd cars. If you have the right tires and winter driving ability, that will usually beat a car with 4wd and the wrong tires. 4wd can be an advantage, but the tires still need grip. A modern Range Rover (even a Sport) is very capable in winter conditions provided you have the right tires. Even so you can still slip more easily than on dry tarmac. That hill could be very slippery and icy so the Land Rover can't save you if you don't drive it right or have any of the wrong tires, wrong tire pressure, wrong traction/off road settings. L405 2016 - Supercharged V6 petrol 380hp
