RP intermittent - update

Hi all, MY 12 TDV8, I’m occasionally getting restricted performance, a couple of times from starting for the second or third time in a day and once when driving.

I recently changed the throttle body hose as there was a bit of gunk around the throttle body but the fault is still there. I have got the replacement donut hoses, but when I’ve checked the old ones this morning, I can’t find any signs of a split. I’ll change them anyway when it stops raining but should I be looking for anything else?

The donut itself looks ok, there is a small crack in the lid of the n/s airbox lid but I can’t see how that would cause restricted performance.

I don’t have the IID tool before someone mentions it, so I suppose I should order one, but would appreciate any thoughts in the meantime.

Cheers

Without fault codes you are fishing in the dark - get the Gap tool and report back. You won’t regret the purchase and if you leave LR ownership you can sell it for very little loss. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Well I now have my IID so will figure out how to get that working.

Meanwhile, it happened again on the way to London the other night, as luck would have it, there was an AA man there and he kindly plugged in his code reader to check the fault for me.

P0486 Exhaust has recirculating sensor B voltage above threshold

P040D Exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor A malfunction.

The AA man cleared the faults and the car was fine

Does anyone know if this is just likely to be a sensor Or something similar, or am I looking at expensive work here?

I’ll get the IID working this week and see what else it tells me

Cheers
