I have a set of these (genuine LR) forged alloys. They are forged/polished not chrome/coated. For cleaning them I have until now just used jetwash and soap but they now need a more thorough clean due to tar, brake dust etc. I am wary of using the usual wheel-cleaning chemicals or anything even remotely abrasive such as Autosol.
Please could anyone recommend the best way these should be cleaned and what with? I have a 'full monty' Karcher steam jet wash by the way.

I also have another similar spare wheel which needs refurb.
Does anyone know a specialist who may be able to do this, preferably in the North West of England or Oxford-Southampton corridor? The wheel refurb people I have spoken to so far all do re-coating etc but so far none of them do refurb of forged/polished alloy.
