Did you do much prep (ie rubbing down, paint cleaning etc)

Much masking off needed? Ash

its not the petrol tank you can see in the last picture its the back box of the exhaust system, you can paint it with any metal paint e.g. hammerite as it does not get hot at all. (the petrol tank lives behind a plastic and Kevlar cover, just like the front engine bay cover that protects the sump and diff)

Erm, would it be bad if I said I just sprayed it on after I washed the car and had wiped down the back box?

Because that's all I did and it's survived a few months no problem, just need to give mine a quick dusting over every few months. 2006 Mercedes CLS

Totally agree - Unfortunately something fell off a shelf in the garage last night and I now have two dents and some scuff marks on the bonnet. Big Cry

Seems the 2004 Java Black FF's are a bit common in Essex now..!!

Thats a real bummer.

I had a tile fall of my roof last year, unlike you i got lucky though landing about a foot away from the range rover. 2004 black Vogue TD6

especially after I just spent 5 hours or so cleaning it. I think a good smart repair guy could get the dents out (assuming there is enough space under the bonnet to get to the dents) and I'm sure the scuffs will polish out.

Just a bit pi55ed off about it.

Note to self... Clean the chuffing garage out.! Shocked Ash

yea there be enough space for a pro to get his tools to it, even the double skined parts of bonnets usually have holes in. 2004 black Vogue TD6

Thank god you said that- I looked back over the pics three times thinking I was a total 'tard for not being able to see the petrol tank Laughing

Sorry about the bonnet Ashley- car looks great- fantastic results on the cleaning!
