August Bank Holiday Euro-RoadTrip - Anyone?

Would anyone be interested in a trip to say the south of France for a 2/3 night camping holiday? The weather should be good and there are some good value places to stay.

Probably travel down there hopefully with 2/3+ cars and then maybe split off in family units when we get there, or do stuff together either way I think it could be good.

Personally I'd be going on my todd, so will need to find a passenger to share some of the driving. I would rather he was a RR guy rather than just one of my mates - as that could end in tears!

The Salisbury Plain trip started off with 30 people wanting to go, needless to say, 30 people did not go in the end! Let's not have another of those sittuations...

There's loads of time to think about it. I'm also open to other suggestions.

I just want some quality time with the FFRR!

In reality - yes it'll be a mission, but it's the sort of thing one will remember for years I'd hope.

It's a long way to the South of France for a couple of days.

We drove down last year in my old Mercedes ML and camped for two weeks in a campsite near Saint Cyprien (not sure of the spelling). We are booked up to do the same for the first two weeks in August this year in a campsite near Valas Plage. It will be a great drive down in the FFRR. This year we have booked hotels to break the journey as it took a couple of days to fully recover from driving it in a single run.

Driving in a FFRR all that way will be a great experience, it certainly beats flying then hiring a sh*t box when you get there.

If you move your dates to to travel down leaving on the 5th August or back leaving on the 20th then it would be great to drive with you.

I was thinking leave friday morning, get there friday night then that leaves Sat & Sun, come back Mon.

Anything else and it's asking people to commit a chunk of holiday from work etc. However, I'm very flexible with holiday etc, so could take a week off - but whether others can is possibly doubtful, where as a long weekend most people can manage.
