They had a green L405 in the car park so I took the Belgravia Green sample outside to compare them.

Someone may know what colour the L405 car is?

The Belgravia Green was more olive in colour and I preferred it - but tastes vary!

Firstly, yes, I definitely prefer the more olive colour of the new Belgravia Green. I think the car in the car park is in British Racing Green, a shade of green I've never really been a fan of.

Secondly, thank you for taking the time and trouble to photograph and share the different paint and leather combos, that's really useful to see.

Eirik34 makes a good point about the Portofino being "a bit too blue" in bright sunlight. I have to agree, having found it illustrated in the video below at 22 seconds, so not sure it's the right shade for me.

Maybe I will have to pay the extra £4.6k for the Constellation Blue, although flicking between Constellation and Portofino on the configurator shows very little difference:

Thanks a lot Freddy Bear for all the samples!! Excellent job, and very helpful for the many of us looking for the right colour combo for ones taste Very Happy Thumbs Up !
To me the Portofino blue and the Loire blue looks very similar in the photos you've taken. Maybe the difference is in how they've made the paint appear in direct sunlight?

I think the green on the forecourt there is Aintree Green. I don’t think the current BRG was available on that age of car, only spectral BRG which was completely different.

Loire blue has more of a silver fleck in it than Portofino which makes it look more sparkly in the sun. Constellation is very dark and looks almost black until it’s in sunlight and then it is a rich deep blue with a violet tinge. Portofino was my first spec, but then I saw it on the L460 at my dealer and was disappointed. It just looks a bit flat and mainstream to me. It doesn’t do the car any favours in my opinion. Add to this, all the silver atlas plastic trim on the front really stands out and looks a bit cheap. The lighter colours look better with the Atlas trim. I am keen to see one in the metal with the shadow pack. As the shadow is grey rather than silver it may take the edge off the contrast with a dark colour without looking gangster like a black pack.

I have never had so much trouble choosing a colour for a car. I usually know what I want immediately and am happy when I get it.

Thanks for that Eirik34, it's difficult to know isn't it.

It looks a brighter shade of blue at some stages, as you rightly point out, then darker at other points - Think I'm going to have to see Portofino and Constellation side by side, although I'm not sure the Constellation is going to be a darker shade of blue, as I've just noticed on the configurator, that it's described as:

"A timeless and elegant luxurious deep blue metallic with a light blue metallic sparkle".

Thanks for the info 5.0, and yes, I think you're right about the colour Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

It's interesting what you say about the Constellation, my wife doesn't like black cars (even though we do own one), so if it looks almost black, then that's not going to work.

Funny what you say about struggling with a colour, I myself feel the same way, as have others I've heard from on the forum.

No doubt they'll release a better, wider choice of colours as soon as my car is delivered!!

aja500, this is Constellation blue on a Sport.

It’s a really nice colour but you have to accept it will look black in dull light. I would go for this myself but it’s basically the same colour as I have now.

Constellation certainly has the violet look in daylight.
I think that the Zero Gravity colour of the Astronaut edition could have worked well on the L460 with the Perlino interior. With its deep blue and sparkling white "stars" --> https://www.virgingalactic.com/articles/in...nge-rover/
But even if we wish for more colour choices, we have to acknowledge that LR actually provide quite a wide colour palette to choose from - better than Porsche, Mercedes and many of the other manufacturers, IMO.

Great job with the outdoor images Freddy Bear. Hopefully we will get more to add in the coming weeks and of different combinations which will make it easier to decide Thumbs Up

5.0 you said in an earlier post that you have never found it so hard to choose a car colour - I know what you mean!

As you say when there are more cars around hopefully it will get easier.

In the meantime here is (sadly indoor) Batumi Gold over Caraway:
