What’s The Most You’ve Sold A RR Privately For?

Be interested to see if anybody has sold a RR privately for £30k plus and if you did what your experience was like.

WBAC are currently offering £30.5k for my RR Sport.

The cheapest I can find one at a dealer is £38k. There’s only 1 example at that price, the rest are all well over £40k with a couple over £50k Shocked

These are all similar examples in regard to age, mileage and spec. But various colour combinations.

There seems little chance of getting any sort of deal in the current market (I haven’t tried yet) £35k for mine seems a good deal for any potential purchasers.

Whilst I can’t offer finance, it would come with over 2 years RAC warranty which is transferable to a new owner.

Just sold my 2017 5.0SC through a mate of mine who owns a very highly regarded garage in the Midlands. He got me a great price. Gave the buyer a trade in and finance. Charged me a sensible fee and it was a very smooth deal. They sold an SVR 2 weeks earlier. As it happens he also sourced mine for me 18 months ago just before prices went too mad. Happy to put you in touch if you're interested. They are proper people so you will be well looked after.

Another vote for Motorway. I used them to sell a FF bought through forum.

Better offer than WBAC and painless process with the dealer who bought.

Tip if you use them - upload as much info and as many photos as you can - I accidentally omitted an invoice for a gearbox refurb which the dealer later said would have made him increase his bid.

Thanks, that would be great. If you PM me and let me know the best way of contacting them.

Thanks also for the other suggestions. I’ve never tried Motorway but they do seem to be getting better press than WBAC.

As far as I’m aware Gary has stopped trading, which is a shame as he was based a 2 minute drive from my front door.

I've used Wizzle (Car Wow) a few times in the past, and also sellcar several times. Very good experiences with both.

Not sold a £30k plus car privately, but have bought several. I prefer to buy from a former owner so that I can see how they appear and whether they look like they will have looked after the car properly. Typically keep my cars for several years and sell in the £10k range. I have sold through Motorway - worked well for me. ...And WBAC which was much more of an ordeal. Mike - MPx

WBAC is a last resort usually if something wrong with it and you dont want to sell to a mate or the public

I purchased our current RR from this very forum a few years back and that was over 30k. It was a great experience.

The previous one was ~20k and also private (AutoTrader) and the previous owner needed to send us some follow up documentation from his accountant, they also included a letter saying how nice it was to meet us and the dogs etc.

Ive had nothing but great experiences, but ultimately I also imagine there are allot of idiots out there!

My main concern was would somebody be willing to pay £30k+ in the private market. I can’t offer finance and no trade liabilities would apply. Although I have got a 30 month transferable warranty which should give piece of mind.

With dealers looking for such high margins at the moment, selling privately would be beneficial for both myself and any potential purchaser.

I guess it’s time to take a punt on an advert on autotrader and see what happens.

I know plenty of people who buy cash or on a personal loan and buy private, but equally people who wouldn’t dream of not buying from a dealer.

Try the forums first, you might get someone like minded? Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

I've used these guys this week for a massively hassle free deal:

https://www.toot-toot.com

I didn't accept their first offer and came back with a figure £750 higher than there originally offered which was accepted. You can either drive down to Henley on Thames to do the deal in which case you'll get an extra £100 or they will come to you and inspect your vehicle and take it away.

Money was in my bank account before the driver left with no extra charge. They also offered £3k more than WBAC.

why not advertise it on the RRSport forum for sale ?
less 'open' market, more enthusiasts maybe

. Cheers, Greg
