sorry for reviving an old thread, My RH manifold is definitely cracked. noticed my engine cover was oily and the general area looked oily under it, so cleaned it all up and sprayed it with soapy water,. lo and behold, bubbles on the RH manifold on the edge of the seam in the middle on the top (seems like the most common place). I'm looking at doing this myself as it doensnt look very tricky just a lot to remove and refit? looks like a full kit with Rh manifold, gasket and injector washers is around £300? are there any other bits to be aware of or change whilst im there?

If anyone needs a little help here on the intake manifold replacement I have just replaced drivers side on the V8 tdi L320.

Anyone find that it’s not just number 8 that’s a struggle? Number 4 is also fouling the body but I don’t see this reported anywhere- is my car special? 😂 2009 (2010 MY) 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography

Same as the left side, apparently lift the engine after undoing the engine mount. I have put off changing my gasket as it's stupidly hot here plus after an oil change using 10w40 oil ( specified for hot climates ) the leak has all but stopped. 2007 TDV8 VSE

Thought id reply to share my experience (still having flashbacks like nam) on these latest replies.

I tried the sikaflex repair and it didn't last long. I don't think it's worth trying as sods law it will go again when you need it most.

In regards to the engine mounts the back one you can get to glfrom.the top of the engine bay straight down with extension bars and a crows foot head (the ones that are like a flare spanner)

The front one you can get to from the drivers (RH) inner wheel arch with the cover removed it's behind one of the lower air hoses. It's tight but once you can see them it's easily doable. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue

Ah, so you need to remove the arch liner- I wasn’t sure if removing that would help much, ok- good to know
