Troubelshooting door lock actuator

Hi everybody, trying to figure out the best way of going forward with my locking mechanism. Trying to test out the unit I have to see if it needs replacing.

I've been able to open it, and actuate the locking mechanism etc via the various controls, that's good.

What I can't seem to do is get the car to open it up via electronics. To test, i'm locking the car, then opening the drivers, all doors still locked. Pressing the button in dash unlocks all doors except the passenger door.

Also... there is a little corrosion in the loom block connector. I did spray contact cleaner in there and use a toothbrush, but sill exists.

So next up I need to determine 2 things:

1. Is the correct signal coming in via the loom? How can I test this? Should I see a jump in voltage with a multi meter? I wonder is it some kind of PCM/PWM signal?

2. If 1. is a success, then need to test the actuator. Can I just apply voltage to a certain set of pins.. or what? (PCM/PWM question here too).

Anything I need know about these, is there a particular part that goes in these? I am thinking that if the part is bust, I have nothing to loose, so I might end up just opening it all up to see the state of the motor and mechanics.

We have an open door Smile

.. And some a lot of wires

Some totally ghetto splicing the wires that were broke.. just to test out of course. I'll get a pin and diagram and re-in the connector [later].

Hmm, this looks interesting.

I wonder do the motors just "go" in them... I am up for trying this.
