United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Vogue SDV6 Santorini Black
MP3 folders

Hi all,

I've just purchased a '17 reg Range Rover Vogue to replace my '61 Discovery XS. Unfortunately, the car didn't come with the relevant manuals so I am learning the Infotainment system by intuition and whatever I can find online.

One thing that has left me stumped is the organisation of mp3 files from a USB source. On my old Discovery I could go to Browse and then see everything as a folder view (1 folder = 1 album). On the Range Rover, I just get a large alphabetical list of all the mp3s on the stick, in root folder or subfolders, that isn't particularly useful.

I'm sure I'm missing something fundamental here but how can I organise my mp3s so that I can access them by folder?

Thanks,
Bernie

the manual is of no use either Rolling Eyes

I've not really used USB - I used to have a 160Gb iPod plugged in there which worked well - but now I'm just bluetooth streaming direct from my phone with Apple Music Thumbs Up

Maybe not a solution to this problem, but if you go on to ownerinfo.landrover.com you can read the manual online once you have selected the model year. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I found another page - seems to imply that the folder structure is visible - and used - final paragraph -

Just bumping this as I'm about to copy more MP3 files onto a low profile USB stick - I still have no idea how to get my Vogue to play MP3 files in any sort of order (I have the latest MY18 infotainment upgrade). Whatever folder structure I use, the files still play in alphabetical order of song title irrespective of track number, filename or artist. This is pretty frustrating when the same track may be across multiple albums as it will play several times in a row. The RR manual is less than useless.

Surely I can't be the only one to have this problem? Are you all using playlists or something?

Just in case anyone - like me - finds this post when:

The files on their USB stick are in the correct order when you look at them on your computer. But ...

... when plugged in to the FF, the order is totally odd.

Do Google, download and run FATSorter on the USB stick as @RRVSE-2 suggests.

It fixes the problem. Smile What do I put here then?
