Just had the annual service and MoT (advisory free again ) on my 2010 L322 and the local independent specialists noted that the near-side headlight bracket is broken. This is not an MoT issue apparently and they advised no action is needed

But I like my vehicles in as good a condition as possible (even if not an MoT requirement) so I asked them to fix it. They called me back to say the bracket is part of the headlamp unit and that costs £1.5k !!

Now, a RR headlight unit costing £1.5k is silly but not that unexpected, what I am struggling with is that there is no way to fix the bracket other than a whole new headlight unit.
