I think you're probably right ffrrman.

Does anyone have any idea when motoring journalists will be properly reviewing the new L460?

I believe it might be Feb - I know that the salesman from my LR Dealer will be driving it for the first time in Feb in Skipton, along with others from other dealerships. From memory on other LR car launches, this is about the same time as the press get to drive them for the first time. My dealer is expecting their first one in as a demonstrator in April, but my order was the 11th for the dealership and is already into delivery in 2023.

Harry Garage also mentioned Feb '22 for driving&reviewing the L460 in his deep dive of the launch vehicle.
Look at 18:20 in his L460 launch video: https://youtu.be/11u9w4hX3q4
Would think that he has got that info from trustworthy LR sources.

Autocar writes today that the order bank currently for the L460 is 30.000 cars!
--> https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/busines...pply-after
LR say that they expect the supply to improve going forward.

I ordered Dec 21 and the suggestion was that deliver could be in Q3/22 but no guarantee - hearing and seeing posts on here offering quite a broad range of statements by other dealers inc that PHEV s could be arriving Q3/22 not 2023 as had previously been suggested

Maybe D350’s like mine will get bumped so JLR can get some Hybrids on the road

I have this week been informed that I have an allocated build slot for March 4th. Delivery date May 6th.

My order was placed the day after launch. LR specified vehicle but a very nice one all the same. D350, Belgravia Green, Perlino and HSE specification.

Blimey. That's exciting. I put a deposit down before launch but couldn't place the order due to the PHEV prices not being released until this week. My dealer keeps assuring me that my place "in the queue" will not be impacted by this, but surely it will be if the petrol / diesel cars are being built right now? 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

The Belgravia will be beautiful. I was offered one a few weeks ago. But didn’t make up my mind quick enough and it went the same day.

I can’t wait. The dealership had 10 vehicles and this was the only one not black or grey. I couldn’t believe it wasn’t one of the first to be snapped up. This will be my first Range Rover having driven a Velar this last 4 .5 years.

The added bonus is my daily driver a 992 is holding at only marginally less than the price I paid for it new in 2020. This will probably go in as PX and I’ll move from getting everywhere as an event to getting everywhere in unadulterated smoothness and luxury! At least that’s the plan!

As others have suggested, once I have it I may join the queue for a PHEV and with supply issues continuing, do relatively well with depreciation.

Thank you. I used to ride bikes a lot so it’s kind of stuck!

The Velar has been fantastic for us as a family vehicle. It’s towed, pulled, had dogs in it, and it’s still a lovely looking car.. It’s the HSE Dynamic spec with the 3.0 diesel which is 300bhp and handles really well for a big car. Loads of torque. Always pleasantly surprised people when they see the rear suspension dip ever so slightly as it accelerates into the distance. Fuel consumption regularly high 30s early 40s in eco mode.

It was a first edition vehicle and I can honestly say it’s been trouble free for us and we’re 85000 miles into it. Because of that I’ve not driven any other variants. My gut feeling would be anything smaller than the D300 would likely be a little underpowered for an SUV and not such a hoot to drive. I kind of always liked the fact it’s relatively understated too. Namely, not a RR Sport.

Are you thinking about one?
