One of my jobs this summer is to sort out my coolant level sensor, I thought whilst I'm there I will do a coolant change.

As I've done 110,000 miles on original everything (as far as I know) I was wondering if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with the coolant flush products. Although I have no problems with overheating currently, I'm keen to keep it that way. Also with the problems others have had with the submerged transmission cooler I think a clean cooling system is a good idea.

Also, I've seen additives in halfrauds, cooling system lubricants and conditioners etc. What is the general consensus on these?

I'd go to a plumber's merchant and get a product for central heating. My Dad used Fernox in his (car's) cooling system for years with no ill effect, though if no crap comes out with your coolant you probably don't need a flush!,

maybe just flush thru the rad with a hose both ways and also the heater rad both ways fill bk up with correct antifreeze / mix and you should be good to go onto no6 Range Rover
