I have a question regarding servicing if anyone could advise please ?

My 2015 RR Autobiography TDV6 is due a service. The dealer wants to do a 115,000 mile service at a cost of £1,580, but my car has only done 60,000 miles so this seems excessive. Is this service due to the age of the car as the mileage is almost half than the service they are quoting. I think they will be changing timing belts and I also don’t know if that is age related or based on miles. Any advice would be appreciated as my last service was £550. thanks

Last year our TDv6 was on approx. 76,000 miles. It was due what the main dealer called a minor service. Due to it’s age, they recommended that the bels were done as well. For a minor service and the belts to be fitted was £1173. That covered all labour and parts at a LR main dealer. We had it done because the service was quite dear anyway and they were discounting some parts… although I think they were maybe a bit premature… but I like to err on the side of caution with the RR maintenance.

Thanks pld118, it looks like I may have to bite the bullet. A local independent has quoted £900 which is a lot cheaper but I still have another year on an extended warranty and I am concerned that this will be invalidated if the Indy does the work.

I was quoted about about £1000 by a reputable local independent for the belt changes. Therefore £1170 to a MD for the belts and service whilst also safeguarding the LR warranty, made for a sound proposition for us 👍🏻

As long as your indi can prove they used ONLY Genuine Parts and followed the service schedule then your warrant'ies will remain intact gents...

Just booked ours into the main dealer and this is what the automated service options were:

84 months | 112000 miles
£1,150.92

96 months | 128000 miles
£529.24

108 months | 144000 miles
£385.42

Based on the last service, ours will be £529.24 this time…

Don't want to start another argument, but that's not strictly true

It's "parts of similar quality to genuine" which need to be used to maintain warranties

While under manufacturers warranty, in the event of an issue, its easier for a claim to have used Genuine parts

While outside of manufacturers warranty, but still under a 3rd party warranty, there is no requirement to use Genuine parts, but again, it's easier to have used quality parts than cheap and nasty in the event of a claim
