Wireless cctv cameras

Evening all

Anyone happen too have any feedback on cctv cameras they use. Ideally I'd like too get one that works from inside a brick-built garage attached to the house as well as having two cameras on the front of the house. The location of the hard drive will be in the next room next too the garage so ideally I'll need something that will view inside their as one of the primary viewing spots.

Any suggestions please

Cheers all

Allen

I also have the blink cameras. Great little units and battery powered with no wiring. No doubt that wired, professional products would blow them out it the water but great value and convenience. I'm very happy with ours, including the night vision. Kev

i was going to buy some blink cameras over xmas but left it to late and now the sets if 3 outdoor ones have gone up by £100.

so if you decide on blink ones , dont buy now but wait for the reductions.. ... - .- -.

I have been installing CCTV and intruder alarms for more than 20 years and I’d never recommend wireless cameras for anything more than a visual deterrent.

Get a decent set of cameras with a wired NVR and then you won’t have to pay subscription until the end of time. Cloud cameras are ok but locally backed up is better in my opinion.

The cameras are powered down the same cable that the signal is sent along so just one cable is needed. No climbing ladders to change batteries etc.

Wireless alarms are ok but I’d steer clear of wireless surveillance Christian.

Excuse the bottom right as there’s some water marks on the dome which cause the image degradation Christian.

The Blink cameras also provide local storage. There is a USB port on the sync module to connect a solid state storage device to. I have a little 256GB memory stick plugged in there at the moment. The sync module is that small it can be hidden absolutely anywhere so your storage is less likely to be stolen by an intruder.

Yes, I agree that professional grade cameras are probably much better in terms of performance but convenience of installation and no cables means that it's more suited to the average home user. It's swings and roundabouts I suppose. Kev

I used to use Avigilon cameras which were very good but didn't have much feature wise. Then I got a ring door bell pro and was very impressed with the quality, so when the ring alarm was introduced I got that as well and added some cameras with floodlight and sirens to it. It is actually really good, plenty good enough for recognition of people and vehicles (entering our driveway). Im very impressed by it.
