Ha i know there are loads of threads on this so this is just my experience!!

xmas eve and the RR decided to get festive and light up the dash with every light it had!!
got home and stuck it on charge battery was at 60%
next day got to bottom of the road and same thing so did a battery test and it failed.

Battery was original to the car so 9 years old and rated as 850 amps type 019 non AGM. so i have replaced with a Yusa 5000 950 Amp 019. i know many people replace with a AGM but as most sites only listed a normal that is what i chose.

Yes, they don’t like low battery voltage. I recon they struggle to power the clock when left to their own devices for too long 🤣.

Had a new LR AGM battery on mine in September, but still drop it on the CTEK every so often to make sure it’s tip top.

I thought the 4.4 tdv8s all had AGM. Was your original battery not? Encourage alternative fuels, use all the petrol!

LR changed the battery to an AGM on the >11MY after the early build run. Also retrofitted them to those already dispatched.

Fit one for peace of mind and as said, monitor and charge if required. Good practice on these beasties. Cheers

It was the original battery as far as i can tell it was branded LR.
Most sites i checked listed only a normal Battery not an AGM one, as i have had no issues i opted to change like for like. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

So just an update on this issue!!
less than a week in the temp dropped below 4c here and all the lights came back on HDC, Emergency Brake Control, ABS and a couple of others so i thought mmmm maybe it is due to the fact i have just got a normal battery! even though when testing it seems fine as does the smart charging.
Anyhow to eliminate it i got the battery changed this time Genuine LR AGM did 100 or so miles all good. Started the car next morning and lights came back, moved the car they went out, re-started the car they came back on.......
so re-read all the codes nothing significant most modules complaining about incorrect data from ABS module, so checked that for water ingress tested all fuses still no joy.
so took to internet to see what others have found and found a few threads about Brake Pedal Switch, it is a cheap part so got one ordered up, a pain to fit mainly as i am too big to get under the dash but we got there. re-started the car lights came on then immediately went out happy days just check all lights are working and no brake lights!! erm WTF no brake lights should bring all the warning lamps on but the car seems to think they are working. put the old switch back on we then get brake lights but also all the warning lights. Now some more googling reveals there are a few MFR's that use this type of switch, it is not so much a switch but a magnet that measures stuff BMW (The part i took off the car), Mercedes & ford use this type of thing but they are not interchangeable so the ford item while it will fit and plug in is not compatible with the RR.
So i now have an original item on order and will update when fitted to see if this sorts the issue. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

ok So fitted the genuine LR brake Pedal switch and ............still no joy!! so yesterday i thought i am just going to drive it see if the switch needs to settle into a position.
got down the road and noticed only 1 item left Adaptive Control Module. stopped at the shop re-started the car and no lights!! came home parked the car and thought i wonder if the battery even though new is low on charge?
checked it and it was 60% showing 12.4v charged so left it on charge.
went out last night battery was 90% and showing 13.2v and no errors on the dash so all good went on a long drive and parked up for the night.

this morning i started the car and no errors on the dash left it running for 10 mins still no lights so switched it off. Not had time to check the battery so will do that over the weekend.

so i do not know what the issue was

1) the new brake pedal switch just needed to settle to the correct position?
2) the battery was low on charge?

so will just monitor for now but i do not know what the cure was. and i do not like that. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current
