Does that fuel filler cover stand proud of the rest of the panel or is it the angle? All LR cars from 1984

What’s also odd is that the front wheels look close to being on full lock but the rears are straight. There is another picture of a grey one on Twitter with the front wheels turned and the rears clearly turned in the opposite direction.

The rear wheels will always return to the straight position when the vehicle is switched off/at a stand still, regardless of the position of the front wheels. .

Ah. That’s interesting. What is the reason for this do you know?

Unsure of the technical reasons behind it tbh. It’s the same system used on VW Group vehicles (including Porsche) and they all behave that way too.

I think our DrF could be the CEO of JLR Whistle

As no cars have been released to Joe public yet.

If you look at this message, it would be strange if DrF is the CEO of LR...

But we're all looking forward to more hands-on info from DrF Very Happy

I think as Eirik says, in light of the poor service that DrF received, combined with the number of range topping FFRR he's bought over the years, an exception to supply has possibly been made in his case. With that though, I suspect he also cannot be too vocal.

Alternatively, maybe we all got the wrong end of the stick, and he was just showing a couple of photos of what he's ordered himself as a Christmas present. These cars were visible when I went for a preview at the factory, which is where his photographs appear to be taken.

Could be either scenario.......

All cars on the road at the moment are ‘prototype’ or ‘engineering’ cars. The line hasn’t even started.

I think your 2nd scenario is more plausible aja, as AB statement is correct and those cars have been released to certain JLR staff.

I doubt it would be possible to get your own insurance for the likes of engineering and prototype cars either. I wonder how that works - presumably JLR must have their own policy they use for R&D vehicles.
