paddle shift on pre touch screen

hi all,i know there was a post a few weeks back about the retro fitting of the paddle shift on a late 2010+ car but can some one say if it would work for sure on the pre touch screen cars[BMW] has it been done before.
can we get a list of parts that would be needed, i know some members here use other sites so there may be some info on other sites.
i have been looking for a site i came across once that had a box of tricks that would receive a can bus message and then put out a ibus message, it could be programmed to put out any ibus code after receiving any canbus code.
i am sure this would work with the 2010 steering controls on the pre touch screen. so if any one has come across this site please put a link up, V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

I always say, if it can be done on an X5 it can be done on a RR:
